Muddy soil, standing water, and wet walls are all signs that there is a moisture problem in the crawl space/basement. Damp, flooded, or wet floors and walls can breed harmful molds and bacteria. Spiders and other bugs are attracted to dark wet places. Over time humidity and moisture will cause structural damage. A drainage system will address any of these issues.

French drains have been around for over one hundred years, and we still use the concept today. Similar to the French drain, the best way to fix a wet basement today, is to have a full-perimeter interior drainage system installed. Together, the perimeter drainage and the sump pump system removes all groundwater seepage, before it ever reaches your basement floor.

No two homes are the same, so our drainage systems are customized for each home. Our GrateDrain™ is patented and engineered specifically to keep water out of your basement or crawl space. Installation is quick and efficient with our experienced crew completing most waterproofing systems in less than two days.

The GrateDrain™ was designed with large dual chambers that direct ground water from beneath the basement floor and the wall/footing joint to the sump liner. The ability of the GrateDrain™ to accept ground water through large passageways (punch holes) from either direction is a powerful advantage when compared to other drainage systems. Other drainage systems may only allow water to enter from one direction or allow water to pass right through their drainage pipe from the wall/footing joint and bring ground water under the basement slab instead of directing it to the sump liner.

The isolation between the GrateDrain™ dual chambers prevent cross contamination of iron bacteria. Our research has taught us that most iron bacteria problems are located in one area of the basement. For example, the iron bacteria may only come in the wall/footing joint and not from under the slab or from the wall/footing joint. We believe that most other systems actually allow cross-contamination of iron bacteria colonies to the whole basement. The GrateDrain™ was designed to isolate any iron bacteria problems so that it is not spread throughout the basement.

GrateDrain™ protects the entire basement. The GrateDrain™ is installed on the perimeter bellow the basement floor. The corners have accessible covers to allow a service technician to flush out the system if needed. GrateDrain™ is an engineered sub floor basement drainage system which is also a closed system (sealed system). Any water or ground humidity it collects cannot evaporate back into the home environment. We recommend that a wall vapor barrier like HD ThermalShield™ be installed along with Flexi-Flange™. We recommend surrounding the GrateDrain™ with clean 3/4“ crushed stone.

It is important to keep your basement and other areas dry from surface water and moisture. In order to prevent water from flooding through the walkout basement doors, cellar doors and garage doors, it’s best to stick with a basement entrance drainage system like GrateTrench™.

The installation of GrateTrench™ helps to prevent water from ever entering your basement. The simple system includes a drainage channel with a grated cover and it’s typically installed above bulkheads, at the base of basement stairs and across exterior doorways. It also includes a closed valve system so that odors from stagnant water cannot get into your home. The GrateTrench™ works directly with the GrateDrain™ Basement Drainage System, so you never have to worry about water or moisture getting in through the doors or stairways.

The GrateTrench™ offers many valuable features including:

  • It can be used around hot water tanks, as well as overflow water pipes

  • Easy to assemble due to its pre-sloped design

  • Its cantilever system enables it to open and close automatically

  • Reliable, fast, and economical

  • By reducing the chances of water and moisture, you can avoid mold and mildew, wood rotting, bad smelling odors, and structural weakening.

We also offer the state-of-the-art, multi-patented GrateSump™ Pump System.

Battery Backup Systems are also available and are a must to keep your home dry and your family safe during thunderstorms when the power goes out.

After installation, your home is awarded its “Healthy Basement Certification” as well as a fully transferable lifetime warranty. Now you can rest easy, with the peace-of-mind that your home is drier, healthier, and smells better.
