FOUNDATION REPAIR SERVICES

It is not uncommon to find leaking water from cracks in your basement walls and floors, but if it’s not dealt with immediately, it could lead to significant water damage and flooding in your home. Water absorption and soil shrinkage can cause home foundations to crack. This can seriously endanger your home’s structural integrity; in some cases, a home may even needs to be condemned. Due to these issues, it’s very important to take care of foundation problems as quickly as possible.

DO YOU NEED FOUNDATION REPAIR?

Here are things to look for, if you see any of these around your home, it’s best to contact a foundation repair specialist as soon as possible.

  • Windows/doors not opening/closing properly
  • Cracks in the basement floor
  • Stair-step cracks in exterior brick
  • Cracks in interior block walls
  • Gaps where wall and floor meet
  • Cracks in exterior foundation walls, where exposed
  • Bowing basement walls
  • Diagonal cracks coming from the corners of doors or windows
  • Sloping floors

FOUNDATION CRACK REPAIR

Crack injection is now the preferred method of interior foundation crack repair.  You might have heard of “Epoxy Injection” or “Urethane Injection”.  The process consists of sealing the crack on its inside face with an epoxy paste and injecting a resin (epoxy or urethane) which fills the entire crack all the way to the outside soil.

Leaking Crack Repair Systems for Basements and Crawl Spaces

FlexiShield™ – Crack repair system designed to flex with the foundation and channel water from a leaking wall crack below the slab. It consists of a strip of the FlexiShield drainage matting and textured urethane sealant and flexes with the foundation as it shifts during seasonal changes. It comes with a 5-year warranty, and it can be painted.

Additional Options for Wall Cracks

HD FinishShield™ – A 16mil, Class A (Fire Rated) wall vapor barrier recommended as a durable wall covering. It’s perfect for basement walls where a customer may not finish right away, but would like the protection against moisture, mold, mildew, humidity and potential wall leaks. The measured average permeance of FinishShield is 0.015 perm.

ThermalShield™ – A 90mil, Class A (Fire Rated) foil faced and true white poly wall vapor barrier. It’s the wall vapor barrier of choice for adding additional installation reflecting indoor heat back into the basement space. Save energy and protect against moisture, mold, mildew, humidity and potential wall leaks. The measured average permeance of ThermalShield is 0.014 perm.

Both systems work in conjunction with the GrateDrain™ System, shielding the living space from water vapor transmission and channeling wall leaks down to the GrateDrain™ system, to be pumped out with any groundwater seepage.
