PEST CONTROL MANAGEMENT vs. EXTERMINATION
Pests are nuisance animals or insects that interfere with human living. Rodents, bugs, spiders, and ants are not everyone’s favorite houseguest. They may bite, destroy food crops, damage property, carry disease or otherwise make our lives more difficult.
The difference between exterminating and pest control management is mainly that exterminators rely heavily on pesticides to eliminate the problem. They often use chemicals that are more toxic than necessary. Pest control management focuses on the pest themselves, what attracted them in the first place and alter the conditions. Effective pest control requires knowledge about the pest and its habits. The first step is to identify the pest correctly and then evaluate strategies to control it. Pest control management companies will only use chemicals if it becomes necessary and will use more environmentally friendly products. Pest control companies tend to use products that are just as effective on the bugs, but are much less toxic to humans and pets, have little odor and are applied strategically. Some treatments even completely eliminate the use of pesticides.
Even though exterminators and pest management professionals have several differences, their goal of eliminating the pests are the same. The biggest difference is that pest management professionals look for long-term solutions, rather than simply spraying chemicals to kill the pests and not addressing the problem why they are there in the first place.
