The customer needed new attic insulation.
Solutions provided:
Remove all the batted/ blown in insulation and in the attic space. Sterifab to disinfect and treat for mites, lice, and bacteria. Air seal any gaps and conduit lines. Install can light covers over recess lights. Install a attic tent for better energy efficiency. Install baffles at soffit lines. Replace bathroom fan flex lines with new insulated flex lines. Blow in new cellulose insulation to R49 (14 inches).
Crawlspace Encapsulation
Remove all batted fiberglass, vapor barrier, and mouse fecal matter. Sterifab to disinfect and treat for mites, lice, and bacteria. Install copper cloth on possible entry points for the mice. Install stainless steel screen on the vents to prevent entry. Spray foam the rim joists with 2 inches of closed cell spray foam. Install R11 bora foam board on the walls. Install dimple shield and 16 mil white vapor barrier on the floor. Seam tape the vapor barrier to the R11 bora foam board. Insulate the entry door with foam board insulation. Install one Santa Fe compact dehumidifier with condensate pump and discharge to exterior of the home.
