Bat Removal

There are 16 species of bats in Virginia. Four (Gray Bat, Indiana Bat, Virginia-Big-eared Bat, and Rafinesque’s Big-eared Bat) are protected as endangered species, but 12 are not. None of the three types of bats most likely to take residence in a building (Big Brown Bat, Evening Bat, and Little Brown Bat) are protected species. Let us remove your unwanted bats, regardless of species.

Raccoon Removal

Raccoons are one of the most common nuisance animals in Northern Virginia and won’t hesitate to take up residence in attics, chimneys, crawl spaces, barns, etc. A thumping or stomping noise in your attic is a common sign of a raccoon infestation. It is essential to remove them and relocate them far away, because they often rip open ducts, chew on electrical wiring, contaminate, tear and even destroy insulation.

Squirrel Removal

Squirrels are not shy about taking up residence in your attic, especially during the winter, and can cause a great deal of damage while there. Their nesting sites turn into toxic messes because cleaning up squirrel feces presents a health hazard. Flying squirrels require different trapping techniques and are harder to get rid of, but SES can remove all types of squirrels from your home.

Snake Removal

When you see a snake regularly on your property, you’ll want to have it removed because it probably has built a den in your crawl space on in a nearby area where it can access your home for warmth. If you’ve got a snake inside your house, don't try to catch it because of the danger of a snake bite. Instead, call SES. Our specialists are trained to humanely catch and remove troublesome snakes from homes and properties.

Skunk Removal

Skunks carry rabies and emit a foul-smelling spray. You don't want them in your home and you should not try to trap them yourself. Instead, SES' wildlife control specialists are trained to humanely catch and remove troublesome skunks from homes and attics.

Our animal removal crews are available on a 24/7/365 basis! All the repair work done by our trained repair technicians is guaranteed for 12 months. If you call SES to have a technician reinspect the work before the end of 12 months, we will guarantee it for an additional year!

I highly recommend Summit Environmental Solutions. I contacted the company about removing a squirrel that had gained entry to the top of my home by chewing through wood. The company sent Mr. Thomas Yendall, Senior Inspector, to assess the issue and provide a course of action to remedy the situation. He was courteous and professional and answered all of my questions. He is a real asset to the company! The company provided a good quote and followed up by email and phone after Mr. Yendall's visit.
I highly recommend this company for all of your pest control issues. They provide great service!

Best choice for best return on investment, comfort and energy savings overall. Remove all batted insulation and vacuum all visible and accessible rodent droppings. Apply disinfectant to attic by fogging to kill any virus, bacteria, and/or fungus from rodent/animal droppings. Air seal ceiling penetrations (conduit lines, gaps, and around tops of skylights) with 1part spray foam to reduce conditioned air leakage from below. Secure microwave vent to exhaust vent on the roof as best as possible. Use hvac tape to help create positive pressure and seal. Bae eaves and install rafter vents to prevent blown insulation from blocking sot vents and ensuring proper ventilation from sots. Inspect ceiling for weakness, damage and integrity. Blow in new cellulose blown insulation, batted fiberglass around the skylights and/ or blown fiberglass where appropriate. R49 will be installed in areas that can accommodate this level of insulation. Eaves are too shallow to accommodate a sufficient depth of insulation for R49. Bae, insulate, and weather strip access hatch.

In attic space install can light covers over recess lights with non-combustible air tight covers sealed with spray foam. Install baffles around hvac unit, entry point, and at soffit lines/eaves. Insulate entry point with insulation foam board with radiant barrier and install weather stripping around entry point for better energy efficiency. Seal top plates, junction boxes, conduit lines, and other penetration points with spray foam to air seal as best as possible. Blow in new cellulose insulation over existing insulation in smaller attic spaces to reach levels of R49. Blow over existing insulation in main attic space (larger)with new cellulose insulation to reach levels of 14 inches (R49).
